Stratford forms new branch

THE Stratford constituency association of the United Kingdom Independence Party has been formally constituted at its inaugural meeting.

Its first priority will be to select a prospective parliamentary candidate to contest a seat in the forthcoming general election, and it will be actively seeking to increase its membership base in the constituency. UKIPs principal aim is that the UK shall again be governed by laws made to suit its own needs by its own parliament, which must be directly and solely accountable to the electorate of the UK.

Since continued membership of the European Union is incompatible with this principle, the party will campaign for the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union.

The following officers were elected: chairman Michael Sharpe, secretary Harry Cottam and treasurer John Toon.

After the lost of a few members, it is good to see everyone is rallying round and making sure the party machine runs on as normal. It is sad we have lost a couple of hundered members, but we are adding new ones by the day!

Come on UKIP lets get busy!
