Default Guardian back to type

Quote:
I do not suggest that Michael Howard is a racist. He almost certainly feels only contempt for those members of Ukip and the British National party who exhibit the cruder signs of prejudice. But he also fears them. He knows that they are attracting support from men and women who normally vote Conservative. And his campaign managers have told him that many hardcore Tories are so demoralised that they wonder if it will be worth walking to the polling station on a rainy day. What better way to defend his right flank and hearten his dispirited troops than a call to come home to the party of Enoch Powell?
Roy Hattersley, one of my more hated older generation of polititian. Spitting image did a great puppet of him and he continues to be a fool now.

Notice the way he wouldn't dream of accusing one of his Conservative buddies of racism, but is more than happy to label UKIP with it.

If these pompus hasbeens must accuse of of such things, how about some names to back it up? Oh, but then you would have a libel case on your hands, silly me!

How can you say that The guardian is back to type, when they didn`t write the article concerned? Roy Hattersley wrote it, and it is his personal opinion.

Every serious newspaper allows people with views different from the newspapers` to write a column or article. The Independent even let some rightwingers write for them.

If you want to blame someone, blame Royston.

I don't see the Guardian allowing many of our prominent people write any articles.

Well perhaps they haven`t submitted anything?

My point was simply that you can`t blame a newspaper for what one of its columnists writes (and Hatters has been writing in The Gruniad for decades). If you`re not happy, write them a letter, or submit your own article.

I can balme them for only printing the anti-UKIP view, but not letting us have the right to reply. Yes we do write to the Guardian all the time, they ignore us, this is biased.

Hence after one tiny little article that didn't abuse us, they have reverted back to type. I rest my case!
