I think that inheritance tax should be abolished. I have always thought that it was wrong that people should be financially penalised because of bereavement. It was first brought in as a punitive tax against the major landowners and this idea is now out of date. With the rise in house prices this tax now hits many more people than it was ever envisaged for. The very rich have accountants to help them avoid paying anyway. As always it is the ordinary people who suffer. The children of those who have worked hard through their lives and have also benefitted from house price rises should not be forced to give their money to the state in this way.

The tax is plain wrong. Simple as that. I don't know anyone who thinks that at the end of a lifetime of paying tax, you should then get taxed a second time when you die. This is the worst kind of state robbery of hard working families wealth.
Scrap it.

Agreed, abolish it. Its only intended purpose was to impoverish the children (or grandchildren or etc) of parents who had worked selflessly to build up their fortune and provide for their descendants. It's pure economic wrecking, done for no better reason than envy.
