Default Paul Sykes

At the meeting in Bewdley last night A question was asked " is there any chance Paul Sykes might come back on board now RKS has gone" RK said "yes"

Yes, as long as he doesn't expect us to stand down in any seats. He would be free to air his view, and could demand his money only be spent in certain areas, but no influence on our democratic decision to fight every seat.

If he doesn't want euroskeptic fighting euroskeptic, maybe he ought to ask the relevant Tories etc to stand down or "cross the floor" to UKIP.

Tories might well listen to him if he asks them to declare themselves. Money can buy a lot of influence.

It would be wonderful to have full backing again. Think of the publicity we could achieve.

COME BACK PAUL, ALL IS FORGIVEN.

and it matters not if your money comes with strings attached -it adds but a few more strings to the ones we're already being animated by?

I'm sorry ladies and Gentleman, Paul Sykes has no place within UKIP, it was at his insistance that the waste of time motion was put at conference, there will be no candidates standing against tory eurosceptics (and I use the tem very, very loosely where tories are concerned), it will be allowing money to make policy.

NO THANKS take yer money and stick it where the sun don't shine.

At the time of the Maastric treaty Paul Sykes offered £2,000 to every Conservative Branch who's MP voted against Maastrict. My friend not only voted against, he resigned the party whip and got described as a b****d by John Major.

His constituency chairman applied for their two grand and thirty years later they are still waiting.

When Bill Sykes left us because he supported/didnt support kilroy William Hague pointed out that Paul Sykes comes and goes at high profile moments and seldom leaves any of his cash behind.

Alan Bown was critisised on this site after the S/E region meeting at Woking some time ago but, whilst accepting that he decides what is printed on the 12 million leaflets he is paying for he didnt demand like Sykes a position on the NEC. He is elf effacing, quietly spoken - no ego present when he spoke at Woking and is passionately committed to what the rank and file want to attain. Unlike Sykes.

I am told, by an upright and impeccably honest member that she was stood between Sykes and Kil;roy when RK-s said to Sykes, "Of course if I am elected as leader you will come back to the party" and RK-s was furious when Paul said "NO!".
RK-S was gutted!

I don't want to name the lady who recanted this conversation but will if I have to.

Please tell, just being nosey you understand.

On a serious note, there was no way that the membership was ever going to vote for that, we are no longer peopled by just ex tories, I believe and I am sure I may be shot down for this, but RK-S was wrongly castigated for losing Paul Sykes.

It was the membership that lost him, and the leadership should have seen it coming (not a slagging, but rather obvious), it was talked about before the AGM, but wasn't picked up.
