Default Regional Organiser Tries to suspend branch

How ridiculous is this when a Branch has to be given its constitutional right by discussing them on Live on TV via the UKIP NEC Chairperson primarily because the branches regional organiser has specifically and illegally told the branch it has been suspended.

Hinckiey golf club was a very interesting night after listening to RKS the BBC approached me and asked for my views.

On a live TV interview on NEWS 24 with Petrina holdsworth I informed her of our disgust at the actions of our regional office after we had received a communication from Gregg Beaman (Regional organiser) & Alan Weddell North West regional committee chairman saying our branch had been suspended.

She said and I quote "It is only me that is allowed to suspend branches"

"Really" was my reply well "you had better go and then discuss this with your North West Regional organiser.Gregg Beaman"

If there were not any more evidence than this that we are being intimidated in a fashionably undemocratic manner then this is it.

Ian Upton
Still UKIP Bolton Branch Press Officer.

(Because the branch hasnt been legally or offically suspended.)

Alan Weddells requests for me to stop writing to the press will also be ignored because I am writing on behalf of our committee and Branch members not the regional comitttee. MR Alan Weddell should read the party consistution and listen to the words of the parties NEC chairperson when she says "Only I can suspend branches"

I would invite both Alan Weddell and Greg Beaman to respond to Ms Petrinas Comments.

Enforcer,

It sounds to me like you have a local problem, rather than one with the leadership on this one issue.

Try to have peace talks now and run a good election. You can always walk later, but UKIP is the only game in town for this election.

So we ignore being a democratic party for the sake of replacing one didctator as PM with another?

Great just why I joined UKIP

No we don't ignore it!

We put it on ice, and then push to sort things out at a better time.

I will support you in anyway I can after the election, to help this party sort out it's obvious issues.

Heck, every party has it's issues, but sometimes you have to bide your time and then strike when the iron is hot.

We need people like you Enforcer and I do understand your grieviences. Stick with us though and we can take this party onto the next level!

Superb performance from Ian on News24 (I saw it live then repeated in full at least once). Kept very calm after very difficult events in Bolton and came over much better than Petrina Holdsworth (or Knapman commenting on things on Radio 4 this morning with his ridiculous and graceless celebrating of Kilroy leaving - apart from anything else, without Kilroy he would not now be getting MEP pay).

I'm sticking with UKIP for the time being, but I will want to see a new culture of democracy and openness in the organisation. If this isn't sorted I'll quit. A leadership election after the general election is essential.

Come on guys, it is your country that needs you. Forget about party politics, put it all behind you and get the message out "Your country is in danger".

I think that would be an excellent idea. Of course, there has to be one in about 18 months anyway, but Roger Knapman could choose bring it forward. I think he'd be wise to announce that now.

If we can't run the party in an open and democratic way, we have no business claiming we should be running the country.
