What other way was left open to him,
A good performance on "any Questions", what happened, another UKIP MEP, phoned "any answers" the following day and slagged him off, the message was lost, everything that RKS had them clapping and cheering, was gone by one of our own, yes it takes two sides to come to a compromise, but this is the only time RKS has publically slagged off the leadership, he has, you have to admit had more of a public slagging from the otherside. Whether you see it the way I do or not, it is undeniable that skullduggery has taken place, and this thread will no doubt resemble something like a circle, will delve INTO phpbb_leadership comment, NEIN NEIN, MEIN GOTTEN HIMMEL, ZAT IZ FOR ZE VARZONE, UNT NOVHERE ELSE. All I want to know is - if RKS gives up his UKIP MEP seat - can I have it please?
Thank you very much. I look forward to demonstrating to Nigel F. how to really get arrested ![]() |

>sigh< he could have done things differently for his benefit, the benefit of the UKIP and inevitably - for the benefit of the British people. Oh well ... it has been an interesting and entertaining interlude. Now where were we ....

Both sides have acted poorly. The damage is done now though.
UKIP is the only reasonble sized party with any chance of any success at this election. Yes we are damaged thanks to this farce, but there is nothing we can do about it now. RKS and Vertias are not an option anymore, he has made it clear what his priorty is, and it isn't getting out of the EU. I don't know how well we will do now, especially if the media give RKS a megaphone (which they will) to do as much damage as possible. The leadership election next year is key for me now. All the main players in this argument are damaged.

I said from time to time in the past that in a leadership election, I would probably tend to support RKS. I said that knowing full well that RKS is by all accounts a total egotist, and an abrasive control freak. I decided that what he had to offer UKIP, and the country, probably outweighed the many drawbacks of having a pocket tyrant at the party's helm. I was never completely convinced about that, and I'm even less sure now - but either way, as RKS exits the building, it is good to be reminded of all the things I disliked about him. His departure is a sort of consolation prize for our wrecked unity and damaged election chances.

And just because I haven't mentioned Roger Knapman or Nigel Farage in my foregoing tirade, don't think I hold them blameless. The leadership has consistently made a bad situation worse by its crass and heavyhanded attempts to prevent the leadership election which so many plainly wanted and which party unity plainly required.

Just got back for bewdley I m afraid nothing exciting happened, usual stuff about what’s going on in the European parliament by MN , RK spoke about general ukip stuff, results, Exeter, Dick Morris, targeting seats, paying for your own election expenses and a couple of digs at RKS like we are a party about polices not personalities, a party of something not somebody. Rustie the local candidate spoke about local polices.
Then mike took questions, first question was about RKS mike basically said he was a one man band with a big ego, he is showman, he wasn’t interested in what we were doing he didn’t bother, he didn’t contribute and none of the other MEPs will follow him, we did not throw him out he decided the party was not big enough for him, then followed with yes he did get us very good election results in the east midlands an extra 3% of the vote maybe getting two more MEPs that was more or less it. A question was asked when the manifesto was to be launched MK did not know so RK had to answer he said a potted version will be launched tomorrow and the full one will be soon. But not very soon. The only other really interesting question was someone asked RK “is there any chance of brining Paul Sykes back on board now RKS has gone” “yes” It was okay not inspiring, if I was not a party member I don’t think it would have inspired me to join or even vote ukip. |
