I object to being referred to as dead wood. I have served this party loyally for 9 years. I have been a candidate in the last two general elections. I have spent hundreds of days and thousands of pounds establishing UKIP across the South East and in Berkshire particularly where I lead the County Committee. I made a big contribution to our EU election successes in 1999 and 2004. In 2004 my branch put 24 candidates INTO phpbb_the district council elections. I served on the NEC for 2 years - admittedly that was a waste of time. At the Bristol Conference I played a major part in overturning the leadership's potty resolution that we should make deals with other parties and I also proposed the policy of direct or active democracy which was adopted as party policy and should be a centrepiece of our manifesto. That's just a few of the things I have done for UKIP.
That's some dead wood init - UKIP could do with a lot more. Unfortunately if it does not pull its finger out it is going to lose a lot more. |

I have had the same thing in my area. The majority of members want to fight the General Election and not Roger Knapman. Kilroy will go the way of the Dodo. Anyone who joins him must be very green when it comes to politics. Oswald Moseley did the same thing when he left Labour in a huff because he was not made leader. He started a new party (taking with a few supporters of other parties) and for a short while got a lot of publicity. It became the BUF and finally fizzled out after a few years getting nowhere. He and his followers spent the rest of their political lives in the desert. |

If you favour putting RKS and his ego before the Cause you are dead wood. We are better off without them. The party we be the stronger for it. |

Ever watch comedians on the television performing in one of their live shows and wonder why the audience is hysterical with laughter? Its because the audience are fans and are going to react favourably.
So it is with UKIP. Why wax lyrical about a performance to the already converted? Its the NON-MEMBERS whose votes will win an election. Who is the best person to get them...Knapman, Farage, Batten, Booth, Whittaker, Wise, Bloom, Titford, Clark, Nattrass ? or Kilroy? |

There really is no need for all this falling out, all Mr. Knapman has to do is call for a leadership contest, then all this bickering will be a thing of the past. If those at the top were really in touch with the grass roots they would know that. So when it comes to egos maybe we should be looking their way. In my eyes no one man is bigger than the Party, so I humbly suggest all of you regardless of who you support, call on the Party leaders to call a leadership contest ASAP.
Another writer mentioned the Dodo, an extinct bird. You need also to bare in mind that many good birds have become extinct just because they buried their heads in the sand!! |

One thing you learn in politics is that you don't gain respect by calling your opponents names. I am not putting RKS and his ego anywhere. I am pointing out that we are heading down a blind alley with our current leaders. That happens to be my opinion. RKS just happens to be the most prominent of a number of people who could change the fortunes of this party for the better. He tends to dominate the discussions for obvious reasons but he is not the only one. If you disagree then maybe you can explain how our current leaders are going to mount a national media campaign without any viable spokesmen. |
