In a TV interview after june 2004 RK said he could win Camborne without putting up a candidate ops: (splutter), in a recent local bi-election ukip came 5th of 5 candidates, this seems to be much the pattern from my observations

For what it is worth, I know that George Galloway's Respect are very confident about Bethnal Green since they got a local councillor (and for a couple of other reasons), and at the other end of the spectrum the BNP are being careful to ensure that anywhere with a BNP councillor will get a general election candidate. So wisdom or not, it seems everyone believes it.
