Default Ukip MEPs Claim They Were Assaulted

http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=3992988

Quote:
UK Independence Party MEPs claimed their their rights to protest against the new EU constitution were violated today when ushers in the European Parliament removed placards they were holding ahead of a vote on the historic document
EU the great institution of freedom and democracy, don't make me laugh!

Quote:
Attempting to bring order to the chamber, Borrell told the protesting MEPs to put their signs away, or “they will be put away for you.”

“The speaker’s job is to protect the rights of backbenchers,” UKIP leader Roger Knapman Knapman said in the chamber, adding that Borrell was being unfair to his group.
This will surely get some headlines! Positive for UKIP too!

Quote:
UKIP MEP Nigel Farage raised a ruckus in November when he alleged that incoming EU Transport Commissioner Jacques Barrot had tried to cover up a suspended sentence in 2000 for his role in a party funding scandal in France, an offence he was later pardoned for.

The accusation caused embarrassment for the EU head office and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and drew the ire of other MEPs who said Barrot’s past was not fairly disclosed.
If telling the truth is causing a rukus, then ruck on people, ruck on!

Daniel also tells us that "two female assistants" were injured when security staff snatched their placards, but what Daniel doesn't tell us is that these were UKIP staff, Annabell Fuller and Nikki Sinclair. They were manhandled/kicked to the ground by parliament security officers for unfurling a "No" banner next to the "Yes" banners put up by the Euro-scum.

When one of the security officers was asked on what authority he took this somewhat violent action, he replied: "My Authority, I am head of security". When asked why he was doing it, he replied: "We cannot have politics in the European parliament".

By the way, three Tories failed to vote at all on the constitution, James Elles, Edward MacMillan Scott, and Christopher Beazley, thus breaking the party whip. By not voting "yes", "no" or "abstain" their names do not appear on the roll call (the official voting record of the parliament), but they refused to support Tory Party policy. There was, incidentally, no EPP/ED whip on the vote: this is waived on constitutional matters, giving MEPs the freedom to cast their own votes.
