Default UKIP arch nemesis Corbett riding the fravy train big time

http://www.yorkshiretoday.co.uk/View...ticleID=917293

Quote:
A ROW has broken out over the decision to give a Yorkshire Euro-MP a £2,000 taxpayer-funded account for travel around the Continent to promote the European Constitution.
We already know this self-interest merchant likes using our money to promote his agenda!

Quote:
Labour Euro-MP Richard Corbett will be able to use a "special emolument" of 3,000 euros a year – in addition to a Euro-MP's regular £250,000 pay, allowances and expenses package – to help pay for visits to other member states "in connection with the process for the ratification of the Constitutional Treaty".
Does this not make everyone of you feel physicaly sick? We are funding a traitor to give our country away!

Quote:
But Yorkshire UK Independence Party Euro-MP Godfrey Bloom said the extra grant, given to the Leeds-based Euro-MP Mr Corbett and four more members, all supporters of the EU Constitution, would not be available to Eurosceptics and branded it an example of taxpayers' cash being used for political campaigning.
I hope we are going to push this issue. If we don't get exactly the same funds to put the counter-case, then the lie that the EU is in anyway democratic will be exposed! Why is this not in the national media? Oh yes I forgot, the media has it's own agenda, very much tied INTO phpbb_the gravy train EU.

Quote:
"Taxpayers' money is being pumped INTO phpbb_the result on the constitution that the European Commission and the Government wants to see," said Mr Bloom. "This is what people in business call a slush fund.
"As politicians we get our pay and sing our song. Why should one side get additional taxpayer cash to promote their views than another?"
Spot on Mr Bloom! Good to see someone is keeping an eye on the abuse of money in Brussels, I don't see the Tories syaing anything!

£250,000? Shome mishtake, shurely (hic!)?

Last time I looked, it was roughly £58,000 for the MEP's salary, and £97,000 for their staff. Or £155,000 in total.

Can I have some of the £95,000 worth of expenses that Yorkshire Today think our MEPs are getting? Pretty please???
