Dear all,
I've received this message, as with the sentiment at the end of this email, lets keep Britains independence way up on the agenda: Dave __________________________________________________ _____________________________ A CHANCE TO VOTE FOR BRITISH INDEPENDENCE Every year, Channel 4, in conjunction with the Hansard Society, runs a vote for 'The Person or Politician who made the most political impact' - in this case, in2004. The Channel 4 Website announced the competition on 13 December in this way: Who do you think made the biggest impression on the politics of 2004? Bono, Batman, the Ledbury Hunt? Who do you think had the biggest political impact last year? We're participating in the annual Channel 4 Political Awards, in association with the Hansard Society, by asking you to nominate the person you believe has made the most impression on the political scene in the past 12 months. He or she might be a politician or they could be an ordinary member of the public who's campaigned for what they believe in. We'll shortlist the nominees and ask you to vote for your choice later in the New Year. Nominate by Email You can send in your chosen name via email (one person per message please) to news@channel4.com It appears that voting has now closed, and that these 5 will be short-listed. Bono Boris Johnson David Blunkett Kimberley Quinn a.k.a. Kimberley Fortier Robert Kilroy-Silk. It will be immediately noted that Bono was actually suggseted by Channel 4 and the other three, apart from Robert Kilroy-Silk, have made their imapct due to unwise or immoral actions. In the minds of most reasonanle people, this leaves a clear winner: Robert Kilroy-Silk. The official news of the short-list wil be announced on Chanel 4 tonight (7pm). It is understood that voting methods allowed will be e-mail, the Channel 4 webiste, and text message. It is uncertain whether 'phone calls will be allowed. You are recommended to watch Channel 4 News tonight and to ascertain the voting methods carefully. It woild then be helpful if you circulate others ASAP about how to vote and who to vote for. Whatver your private view of Robert Kilroy-Silk, a huge vote for him in this poll would once again send a powerful signal to the political establishment and the people of this country that British independence is very much on the agenda |
