We can start with Nowich union & lastminute.com.....

.... But then most large companies are outsourcing in the backdoor via office-running and IT systems.

I tell you some of the stories I hear in the IT industry about out-sourcing; I've got nothing about the Indian workers... we've all got to eat.... but a lot are dropped INTO phpbb_jobs they haven't been trained in because they are cheap.

It was obviously a indian call centre that took the call but guess what the guy was allegedley called "Adrian hill."

He wa barely comprehensible let alone English.

CMON Admins...

Can you get a list started on companies with NON-UK Call Centers so we can encourage the public to boycott them?

Part of our manifesto should be that, any company that takes work outside the uk i.e, call centres should be fined let's say TEN YEARS RUNNING COSTS (to include; wages, tax, NI, pensions, local taxes etc), I think you can see where I'm coming from, let's keep British Jobs for British people.

Ashford call centre are accepting now all Rupéés in donations.
This special week you can give two donations for one special price.
How can you refuse such good friends?
Calling us you have come to the right place.

Sallaamzies,

Your most unworthy servant,

Naja Rajaram.

P.S. Auntie Dana said please to remind of generosity at Christmas thank you.

Yeah enforcer... dell's call center is based in Bangalor but I dont think they ever had a UK based call center unlike Norwich union who sacked a lot of their staff for Indian workers.

A story from a mate who works for a large firm in the City - his co-workers werre all sacked when their IT department was moved off shore... but the Indian workers actually used the names of the fired workers as their telephone names! (like anyone calling a help desk wouldn't notice the accent change!)

- apparently there's a lot of resentment in the organisation as they dont get the service - for starters the Indians all finish work at 3 so for the last 2 hours there's no support what so ever!

Excellent idea Dave lets go back to protectionism like the EU and crash and burn in the global economy.

We can specialise in high tech products to earn our foreign currency to pay for overseas call centres (outsourcing by British firms wont likely hurt us anyway). I would rather a Briton to do something better than work in a call centre personally. Outsourcing is good, protectionism bad.

The tories have turned us INTO phpbb_a service based economy, Labour have and are doing nothing to bring manufacturing back to where it should be.

I would only agree with with outsourcing when we have an equilbrium of manufcturing and service, this will take time, so I wont apologise for wanting to keep Brits in work until that happens.

HSBC (stands for having sex behind counter) is definitely one to boycott. Their district service centres are being transferred to Ceylon and last year when I wanted to transfer a current account from Norwich to Spalding it proved impossible to make the clerk in India understand what was wanted. Changed accounts to the Norwich & Peterborough (call centre in Peterborough), lots more interest too (no I do not work for them).
