Question re Extraordinary Conference

This may seem obvious, but for us total beginners;

How does the voting actually work? Is it of all members or just the members who attend?

If it is by the members at the conference, how is the vote made, by show of hands, ballot box?

Are motions passeed by simple majority?

It's a vote by a simple majority of those who are at the conference, made by a show of hands. If it's not clear, a count will be made.

So if a large percentage of the party members turn up, then a fairly large logistics exercise, I would think.

The travel / accommodation costs to attend will come to a tidy sum as well!

Any EGM would take a lot of time and money to organise. Every branch will have to hold a local EGM before this to see if their members want a national one. It would leave us very little time to fight the general election.

Whwn is the part's AGM? I assume the proposed motion could be put there without the need for the EGM procedure?
