Legalise it, decriminilise it.
It tune with my feelings that people should be able to do what they want with their own bodies, as long as they don't harm anyone else, I believe they should make it just like alcahol or ciggies. It almost seems to be at that level anyway, so it would be a good chance to take the crime element away, make it a taxable product and make it easier to keep tabs on Britains usage of it. I doubt if the rest of UKIP are of the same mind, and I'll go with whatever the majority want on this one, as I am not that strong in my opinion on it.

I agree with MKP
legalise and decriminalise. But make sure you do thorough research on it's effects on the human body first and make that available to the public - also have to think of how easy it is to breathalise people on cannabis as you have the trouble of driving under the influence. To my knowledge cannabis on the whole is a drug that sedates but there are also various types of weed, referred to as 'bubonic chronic' and 'northern lights' that are laced with othe rmore unnatural chemicals that cause hallucinations and possible psychotic episodes - although so does alchohol! it's a question as to how easy it would be to police these class A weeds over and above normal cannabis. |

haven't seen any suggestions from you on the ideas for how to improve the profile of the party in the public domain and how we can make it clearer to people what UKIP stands for etc - check the topic and file a view. need some more views in there. |

1. It is not true that use of marijuana leads to hard drugs no matter what opponents may say. By making it illegal folks who want it are driven to illegal sources and the sub-culture. It is when being contact with this sub-culture they are exposed to, and encouraged to use, hard drugs. 2. Marijuana has a far less detrimental effect on society than alcohol. 3. Although some folks may become psychologically dependent upon Marijuana, unlike alcohol, it is not addictive. Coffee is addictive - y'all going to ban coffee? 4. Marijuana has legitimate medicinal uses. 5. Finally - the ban cannot be enforced. We all know the law is an ass. A government, imposing laws which have no value and which cannot be enforced makes the government itself look an ass. There is less and less respect for government these days and this trend will continue until we have a government which only imposes laws which either protect or are of benefit to the people and which can be enforced. ![]()

I'm in two minds about the legalisation of cannabis.
On the one hand, legalisation would bring the price down and improve availability. On the other hand, legalisation would mean the Govt was able to levy taxes on cannabis, which would push the price back up again... :? |

Like home-brew beer. Quality additive-free product and tax-free to boot.

Is this the LibDem party or what?
Legalisation will result in easier access. This results in more use. This results in more pickled brains and cancers. Legalisation is the weak, defeatist, appeasement route. I say have laws that are effective; consistant and are enforced with real determination. The litmus test must be would society be a better place without mind altering drugs? I say yes. We have got enough legal mind altering substances already. Why more? |
