Default RKS expelled = end of the party?

http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=3687324

While I think it would be a grave mistake for the party to expell RKS (I would expect a vote on it), I do think he is putting a bit too much weight behind his influence.

UKIP was already on the up when he joined, I remember not being sure if him joining was a good thing or not, as he definitley was seen to have baggage. However he did a great job and has helped the party get more members and exposure no doubt.

He has resigned the whip and the leadership should except that. If they were to throw him out without asking the membership, it will be seen as them running scared of losing the leadership to him later on. This would be very bad for the party and while I don't think it would destroy it, it would set it back years.

If the leadership read this forum, I urge you to leave the issue alone now and concentrate on winning seats at the election. Any more negative actions would put the leadership in a terrible light and would show contempt for the membership. Do a great job at the election and people will want to keep a winning team in tact.

In a statement, the other MEPs said that they "very much regret" Mr Kilroy-Silk's decision and the Party's Parliamentary whip, Jeffrey Titford MEP said: "We still do not have any written confirmation from Mr Kilroy-Silk of his intention to withdraw froom the whip. What has happened is a great disappointment for us all but it is time to move on".
That is from the UKIP website, and doesn't sound too hostile towards Kilroy-Silk, so perhaps they will just leave it for now. The leadership appears to have won this battle.

RKS expulsion would not mean the end of UKIP but I do not underestimate the damage it would cause us. I hope both sides can still reach a comprimisu ideally under the current leadership with RKS palying a key role in the general election campaign.

Why would MKPDavies expect a vote on RKS being expelled, when the lying leadership (rotten to the core), and there lapdogs on the NEC won't give a vote on who the members want as leader.

The leadership of this party is no better thatn Labour tories or the lib dumbs, they treat membership with contempt, "just get out and knock on doors and deliever leaflets it's all you are good for" seems to be the prevailing attitude.

Oh dear more heated comments regarding the leadership, what a terrible lot they are! Heres a novel idea, lets put our diffrences aside, work together as there is no dispute over our core belief and lets win some seats at the next general election and give the British People the type of representation they deserve, we have so much to be proud of. Mr Knapmans term as leader will come to an end in due course and then candidates can put themselves forward, in the mean time nothing will be achieved by calling the leadership liars even if you think they are, if you want out of the EU the only way forward is UKIP that goes for Knapman, RKS, You, Me, and the 16% who voted for us in June and others who may consider doing so next year. From observing these debates it is quite clear our party has some serious shortfalls regarding its decision making processes and policy development stratergies, progress will not be achieved overnight, we are now a significant force in British Politics, Lets Keep it that way.

UKIP is the first party where I have actually been asked to submit policy suggestions.

Sorry this statement is untrue. They have to give the membership a vote on who leads, at the right and proper time. No organisation would poll it's members everytime someone shouted "I want to be leader".

Lets move on from this now, and you can look forward to voting RKS in the near future!

Yes we must move on and the only way this can be done effectively is by RKS and his supporters working with the leadership, I hope he will reconisider his position regarding the whip and in due course I could consider supporting him for leader. At the present time I would be uneasy if he was my PPC as his actions have made me question how much of a team player he is. If he is expelled and I hope we can avoid that then we must move on without him. UKIP provides the best vehicle for real change and can speak up for the people of the UK giving them the goverment we all deserve, one man does not make a party whatever his talents, UKIP exisited pre RKS and will do so post RKS if that unfortunate event occurs.

Those who criticise RKS for not 'working with' the leadership obviously haven't tried to work with them before. If you do everything Nigel says, you're OK. Otherwise you're a maverick wrecker.
