I'm not sure how credible a party that lets the first high profile person to walk through it's doors, screaming "I wanna be leader", force a full on leadership election would be. Say RKS won this election, but in 4 month time Richard Branson joined the party with the same attitude, would we then just bin RKS for the even more popular Branson?
I still haven't heared a good reason why this needs to happen so soon. Even super RKS can't get us an election win, so what is the point in all this bickering now, if he could just wait for the proper election that can take place when Knapmans term is up. Convince me of why it has to happen now.

Remember all this stems from Knapman allegedly saying he would step down...also remember Kilroy and Derek Clark (East Midlands) got the highest percentage poll amongst MEPs. It was up up from 7.6 to 26.1% of the vote.
Non of the other regions even come close to matching that. Use your common sense people. |

Sorry Tony but if we have an election now all the press will concentrate on between now and during the election is how divided we are. Also we ditch a leader who has just lead us to such a superb set of election results.

Rjt, you sound just like a member of the other parties. Do you honestltly think the average voter gives a toss about 'splits' in the party? That is why the other parties are so useless. Each of them afraid of farting out of turn in case the press starts running stories about a split.
For crying out loud for the last 5 years there has been story after story about the Blair/Brown split...but it is policies and lies that are killing off this government. I don't give a damn whether Kilroy like Knapman or either of them like Farage. They were not elected to like each other. They were elected to get us out of Europe...with or without a smile on their faces. |

The spilits you refer to e.g. Blair/Brown are exactly why politics is such a turn off. Our results in June and since have been because we have not had to endure this type of thing, unity is the only way to get a good result at the General Election.

Rubbish. Its because neither will admit that that Brown wants to be leader. How refreshing that Kilroy has come straight out with it. No inuendos, no leaks to the press.
Clean and simple. " I want to be leader" The unelected Knapman is looking more and more like the Tories he left behind...or did he? |

Nigel Farage has just stated to Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 that 'We have polled the party and they are happy with the existing leadership and want to keep it that way' -
This is a disgraceful and totally untrue statement - NOBODY HAS ASKED ME! I was undecided until now on the subject of the leadership of UKIP. Any doubts that I had about the need for change have now been thoroughly dispelled. Tony Gardner |

I want to be leader and demand an election now. I am the only person who can lead this party to glory. I have been a member longer that RKS and I am young, have a cheeky smile and have no baggage what-so-ever.
If there is no election then this party is corrupt and unfair. Who's with me! Of course I am joking, but how far off is this with regard to RKS? If you allow this to happen now, whats to stop it happening again and again until we are such a joke that no-one will vote for us. I still haven't heard a good reason why now, is the only time RKS can come in make any real difference by being leader. I have said it before, I might well vote RKS if he proves himself in time for the proper leadership election, as it stands now I would have to vote for Knapman, as he has done a decent job and we would look silly changing leader now.
