You will not be shocked to know that i will support Mr Knapman but I hope a divisive election can be avoided.
To Carl who rubbished my previous post i simply say this, do you wish the media to cover UKIP policy or constant speculation about the leadership just 59% of the electorate bothered to vote in the last General Election because they despise politics and see it being more aboput persoanlity than substance. The current Goverment have contirbuted largely to this do we in UKIP wish to give them a helping hand? |

More than happy to reply Dave, The best set of election results by a fourth party since the SDP. Beating the Tory party INTO phpbb_fourth place at Hartlepool, more local councilors elected and two seats on the London Assembly, all achieved under Mr Knapmans leadership. There are areas of policy I would like the leadership to develop more fully what memebr of a party does not want this but after election results like the ones UKIP have achieved how can anyone be contemplating a change of Leadership? RKS apears to me to be on a one man ego trip, do you really support someone who goes on National TV during our party conference to openly challange the leader, that raises the question of whether his temprement is suited to working with others. UKIP has no chance of developing policy further whilst it is continually dealing iwth these internal divisions.

Rjt, most the 59% of people who voted probably can't bring themselves to vote for anybody other than the party who they have always voted for...it's the other 41% who are up for grabs in the first instance...I say a good proportion of the British electorate are aware of Kilroy and his constant attempts to highlight the politcally corrupt and politically correct times in which we live...
Let's be truthful now. Is there ANYTHING other than the EU that Knapman has stuck his head above the parapit about? If he has the press ain't interested...and that's the problem. Unfortunately it's 2004 not 1964; the TV sound bite age is here and time is running out for this country. It's all about expediency. What's best for this country and not about liking this person or that person or being loyal to this one or that. Leave the blind loyalty to the EU ministers. |

Good afternoon to you too! I seem to be provoking some strong opinons here! I agree we certainly need to target the 41% of abstainers and i think you are right to argue your point regarding the other 59%, However you appear to simply give up persuading them of our cause. UKIP has appeal to voters of all the main parties and many of the minority ones we should want to spread our net as wide as we can. I fully accept that Mr Knapman needs to raise awareness of other policy areas but firmly believe it will be best done via a united party under the current leadership.

Hartlepool, when did Knapman go to Hartlepool to help with the election? Kilroy did. eu election, it was only when RKS came on board and the press coverage that he bought with him did UKIP get noticed. London, the hard work of the London branches, Knapman again did not show his face there either. Result alot if not the majority of UKIP success is down to the emergence of RKS, at least eight people can directly thank RKS for there now big wage and expense package. I'm fed up using initials, my name is Dave Davies, membership number 25617, Darlington constituency. Don't be anonymous. Dave. |

I would not dispute the role RKS has played and hopefully will continue to play. However I think that we would have done very well in the EU Elections in anycase as our core policy appeals to voters fo all partys. You overestimate Kilroys impact here Dave and any good work he has done he is undermining with his current course of action. I want to hear about UKIP policy not leadership elections this can only be achieved by RKS supporting the current leadership, if he chooses to branch out alone then we are heading for disaster.

Indeed and that is why we must maximise his talents in a key role during the General Election, Both he and UKIP as a whole can only benefit from this. There should be no disagrement between any of us on this.
