Taxation (we are shareholders not cows to be milked)
· New scheme: government to annually include a thank you and commendation to all over average tax payers (to be regarded as shareholders) · Points to be earnt by tax payers which have a cash-in value (to be regarded as shareholders) · Government to be capped on extent of increasing taxation. New taxes to be strictly limited, no multiple taxation allowed (tax on revenue already taxed), no new taxes unless situation is unique. · All tax mechanisms to be audited so that true extent and complexity of double or multiple taxation taxation can be reported to the people and a new tax system developed which is more ethical and respectful of earners priori claim to their own income.

Move to a single system of income taxation (sweep up income tax, NI, local taxation), with fair distribution to local authorities based on a basket of measures.
All taxation raised from the transport sector (fuel duty, vehicle tax) to be invested in transport infrastructure, with particular attention to moving more freight back to the railways. A fair deal for savers. Introduce a system where money is either invested free of tax (but simpler than current ISA/PEP) or if invested money has been taxed at point of income, earnings from that investment is free of tax. Annual 'lower limit' of interest rates to be published and enforced, to prevent building soc's and banks paying paltry amounts to those who hold money in old account schemes. Small tax breaks for those with private health and/or dental care. Manufacturing industry to be recognised as a 'special sector' recognising its important role in wealth creation, employment and international trade, with appropriate tax incentives given to manufacturing companies. |

Not ALL of it, surely? Most of it. Most tax on ciggies to go to NHS. Most tax on alcohol to go to Police. Inland Revenue takes over Social Security and NI contribution. Left hand takes, right hand gives, so you won't fiddle the system too long. Guaranteed minimum income, no poverty trap where you step over a line & get taxed to the hilt. Income tax will have to be variable percentage-wise for that to work. Salaries freely notifiable to anyone who asks to see them (now theres a sneaky one!) under the Freedom of Information Act |
