Default Dejected members frustrated with UKIP

I have just had a dejected member on the phone. For years he has offered ideas to UKIP and UKIP has taken none of them up. I think it is true that our head office has not, unfortunately come of age at the same pace as the rest of the party. I hear they are not organised and probably its true. Apparently they have called for PPCs to come forward but are unable to process the interest being shown.

I want to say this to people frustrated with UKIP. What UKIP needs are committed people, people who care about independence more than differences in opinion about gays or immigration or whatever, who regardless of the leadership will still support and vote UKIP (we are the only party going for withdrawal from the EU). We need campaign teams, leafleteers and we need PPCs. Dont think that anything else is more important right now, because it isnt.

I cannot understand people who leave UKIP in a trantrum. It is a greater betrayal than voting for a pro-EU party. How many French resistance fighters threw down their sten guns in a fit because head office didnt answer their appeal for help, not many I imagine.

Bang on the mark!. UKIP is going through some growing pains at the moment, and that is no suprise. The party has a lot of good people who are working to put us in a position to save this county. If we don't get it right, the country will loose, and funnily enough so will Europe. The best thing to happen for Europe is for this EU project of folly to collapse, so we can all work together as friends again, rather than look at each "region" with suspicion.

People like Maloney, Sykes and others are not the kind of people this party needs. We need people who really care about this country, and don't spit the dummy as soon as they don't get their own way.

I for one am more determined to do all I can for UKIP than ever before! It is the only chance we have of taking our country back!

Agreed. Bang on the mark.

But...

I know this is addressed in other topics, but the current leadership is not managing these growing pains to which you rightly refer. The lack of real positive leadership and the stupid foot in mouth comments are what is capturing headlines and leading to the current power vacuum. (would RKS have acted as he did/ is if there was strong leadership and direction?). By and large, people want to be led and be directed.

As for good ideas - as far as I could see and search, this forum is not even referenced, let alone promoted, on the main UKIP website.

Default UKIP not reading this forum

You are right. I spoke to a UKIP MEP last week and he said he is not looking at the site. I think it should be essential reading for them.

It is a shame what your party is going through.

We really thought you were going to make a big dent in the votes for the main three parties.

As Killroy supports and English Parliament, then I have to admit we would like to see him as leader.

I think you need to have a proper leadership election to resovle this issue.

[edit reason]Please do not promote other parties on this website. Thanks.[/edit reason]

Default Shame is all on Killroy

It is not a shame for UKIP, this is character building stuff for our party. What is more in my opinion Kilroy has revealed in himself the lack of character, certainly commonplace in today's politicians, that we do not want in UKIPs leadership.

I hope UKIP grasps the nettle, makes it a manifesto pledge that its officers will conduct themselves professionally at all times, and in the best interests of the British people and the party. I hope that UKIP determines to raise the quality of politicians in Britain by committing to sack any MPs who bring the party INTO phpbb_disrepute, which will mean combating many ridiculous legislation and modern thinking. For instance any politician which is caught with his/her pants down in public (metaphorically speaking or otherwise) should be sacked on the spot, and we should have politicians with sufficient sense of honour and shame to accept the decision without any backbiting or opposition. Lets aim to have politicians which can command the public respect - they will love it.

What has anyone got to be frustrated about! The past few months have seen excellent results at the European Elections, Hartlepool and at local level including a by-election just last week. Lets stop squabling, get behind the current leadership and look to make our breakthrough at Westminister next year.

What UKIP members have to grasp is that it is not the UKIP voter we need to get it is the non-UKIP voter.

A leader who appeals to a wider audience is worth a thousand who appeal to the converted.

Time is running out for this country. If Knapman is going to step down in two tears then why not do it now if there is someone who is ready and willing to take up the mantle and progreess UKIP to even greater heights.

But of course if the membership want him to stay then fine.

UKIP musn't call the undemocratic EU when they are not much better themselves. If Roger Knapman truely had the wishes and interests of the membership at heart surely he would put himself to the vote...and accept the result (as Kilroy must).
