It is interesting that you say that Mr Farage is the only possible future leader, but I know that many people would disagree. He has annoyed people with his claims that we should not stand against Eurosceptic MPs; a direct contrast the motion that was passed by the vast majority of conference. That is about as off-message as he can get. I do get the impression that the reason he isn't usually off-message is because up until now he has always been setting that message. He lost the motion in the conference by a huge amount, yet is now ignoring the wishes of the membership. He is entitled to his opinion, but it doesn't seem "on-message" to me. You may well be right about RKS being a loose-cannon, and only time will tell. That is why I would rather he remains as a leader in spirit for the moment. I don't think that the party has enough money for national advertising; that is very expensive. Free media coverage is a lot more effective and cheaper, and that is what RKS brings. |
