Default Time to face up to the question of withdrawal from the EU

Quote:
Increasing numbers are waking up to the fact that the EU does not have their best interests at heart and is there for the ‘enjoyment’ of politicians and bureaucrats. A recent opinion poll in the Times suggested that extreme Eurosceptics outnumber the Europhiles by four to one; meanwhile over 70% of the British electorate demand a referendum on the EU constitution; a similar number do not wish to be saddled with the failing euro whilst a growing number wish to leave altogether. The Federation of Small Businesses is alarmed at the increasing amount of red tape that is being heaped on them, bearing in mind that small businesses in the UK are the country’s biggest employers, to the point where some are giving up.
Mr Farage makes an excellent point that most people are realising that we get very little out of Europe, and it is damaging our economy, rather than helping it. The endless mantra that we have to be in Europe to ensure "investment" and to influence the direction of Europe has been shown to be a lie, or at the very least a gross miscalculation. But when are the big three parties going to start admitting that?

I dont know if anyone is interested in this, but I'll tell you all anyway.

Earlier this year I went to holland with my family to support my brother in a football tournament.
Most of the time not spent watching the games, I got speaking to the locals. When I was speaking to one man he seemed to think that holland was one of the largest investors in europe in scale to their size. I certainly believed this could very well be true. After more talking with the same man I could tell he obviously felt violated, as he put it "its like being invaded again". He then, spoke to me like he was in a occupied country, and insisted that Britain should not be a part of the plans of the future for the EU.

The sad thing was he was not the only person who passionately opposed the EU. Obviously there would be supporters of it all in holland, but I didnt seem to see many.
The other thing that struck me was these people were angered by how their lives had been changed by the actions of the EU, But I could tell just in my short stay there, aspects of their lives beat british problems hands down (e.g sports facilities, policing, clean streets, aswell as many more).

Maybe the Friesen people didnt realise what was happening until it was too late. Just a few more examples of why we shouldnt persist with getting engulfed by the EU and its bureaucracy.

The problem is that people may not want to be part of an EU superstate, but they see other issues as being much more improtant at the moment.

Take the Hartlepool election. The two parties fighting to win that seat were Labour and the Lib Dems. Both of those parties are rabidly pro-EU, and would happily sign us up to being a slave state as soon as they can.

Does this mean the good people of Hartlepool want to head INTO phpbb_the EU experiment? Hell no! Iraq gained the Lib Dems their slice of the votes, as they are seen as the anti-war party. The Conservatives have no hope in towns like this as they burned their bridges long ago.

I am still bemused by how many people vote Labour, after all they have done to the people. As it has been said elsewhere though, a lot of people still think they only have two choices, Lab or Con and they voted for the best option to be the Cons.

Hopefuly seeing the pathetic tories pushed INTO phpbb_last place will slowly make people realise that Labour is not the only option, but UKIP needs to come up with strategies to speed this process up. Any ideas?

I suppose the party just has to keeping getting press coverage and other publicity. I seriously believe we will 'overtake' Lim dems sooner than people think.

I sent away my membership application the other day, on it I included that I would be willing to help with leafleting. Any little helps I suppose.
