Great African Films

I have just watched over the last few weeks three films:

Catch a Fire - a 2006 thriller about ANC terrorism and freedom fighters in apartheid-era South Africa, based on a true story and starring Tim Robbins.

Hotel Rwanda - called Afica's 'Schindler's List', Hotel Rwanda tells the tale about the hotelier Paul Rusesabagina during the Rwandan Genocide and stars Don Cheadle.

The Last King of Scotland - this Academy Award winning film stars Forrest Whittaker and James McAvoy, and explores the Idi Amin dictatorship of Uganda.

All are excellent films and are based on real events, and despite all having either American or European leads, they do have feature a lot of African talent. All are well worth watching.

Zulu was good that had a lot of spear chuckers in it as well!

Got "The Last King of Scotland", glad to hear it's good as we've yet to watch it.

Bloody great film. Best acting I have seen in a long time.

I would recomend Moolaade, although it is part French produced.

Zulu, Caine and Baker at there best, brilliant film.

Is there any particular reason why I should be gaggling to watch 'African talent' ?

When I worked in Streatham I used to see enough African talent to last a lifetime.
