The europhile Liberal ‘Democrats’ want cars out of Oxford Street in London with a tram line built instead. Livingstone, a supporter of the EU, also considered pedestrianisation of Oxford Street, when he was Labour Party Mayor of London.
Pedestrianisation and the introduction of trams are seen by some as european continental concepts.
