How would I know after a night down the pub and a bottle of vodka I've normally stopped monitoring my alcohol in take.

7-8 pints is about the most I would normally go to. After that the volume is too much.

The most ever was 9 pints and 4 shots

I'm ard, I drank 26 pints once and beat up 30 policemen. They tried to retrain me, because I was exposing my 20 inch donger. Although, I was drunk at the time so I might of got some of the figures wrong.

The only problem is apart from the well documented (by my wife and several friends - and I still get **** for it) 14 pints of Abbot I used to lose count.

I've seen both my late father and late father in law go through a couple of bottles of respectively gin and scotch

I did mix Southern Comfort and brown split (brown ale and bitter) one night which put me off both for life especially when you have to clear the mess the next day

likewise got put off Vodka after a drinking competition one Xmas Eve - we were on 2nd bottle each - neat with ice - apparently I did a perfect swan dive down a mates stair case don't ask me though then back on 1 a 2 pints of bitter

The worst I can remember is turning up late to the annual "school reunion" drinking session in my youth where the collective goal was to consume more than the previous year. I made a valiant contribution, drinking six pints and a couple shorts in the 45 minutes available before the towels went up. The "man of the match" award went to a certain person who drank 17 pints of cider through a straw and numerous shorts into the bargain. The previous year's tally was comfortably exceeded and a great time was had by all. However we all paid the penalty during the night and the following day.

    Those were the days.

Well the theory could be flawed and I've read both Climbing Mount Improbable and The Blind Watchmaker. My position is that his "god of the gaps" defence still fails to answer the criticism of the lack of fossil evidence showing morphing of one species to another.
