Range Rovers? Bleuuuurgh! Puke, puke, puke!

Have you ever driven one of the monstrosities? They handle like a blancmange, sway about alarmingly in cross winds, they're slow, unreliable, uncomfortable and drink petrol like it's going outta fashion! A pox on Range Rovers say I.

    Anyhoo, back to topic.

'Touching the Void' by Joe Simpson. Terse, well written, remarkable and TRUE! You would not think men could go through such things and live. I read it cover to cover in one night.

'A Strange Liberation' by David Patt, the eyewitness accounts of two Tibetans who went through China's Gulag system. Searing! Buy a copy and give it to a feckin' socialist and make 'em read it, at gun point if needs be! That'll learn 'em. B0stards!

I could think of dozens of good books, but those are two that just popped to the forefront of my mind.

(I've got copies of 'The Gulag Archipelago' by Solzhenitzin, and 'Shipwreck of a Generation' by Joseph Berger but I ain't read either of 'em yet, but both were highly recommended to me. I'll let you know how I get on with 'em.)
"There's no way to rule innocent men.
The only power government has is the power to crack down on criminals.
Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them.
One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws."~ Ayn Rand.
