I have no idea what your new friends are like nor do I know their background or circumstances but they will have reasons (motives) for befriending you and they may not be in your interests.
They may just like your company but with such age differences the likelihood diminishes with the added years. Do you have money? Are you attractive? Answer yourself honestly and you will gain some insight into this.

It's my new book, coming out in the 6th quarter next year.

She says they are much too old for me (like they're in their thirties - I think,) and are a bad influence on me. I think they are fun and wicked cool in their own way, and I like being with them.

The main problem is that I got a bit wasted the last time I was with them, and my aunt chucked a wobbly over that. Like I said I wouldn't drink too much again, but she does not trust me.

The main problem was I had too many different kinds of drinks, and it made me sick. But I'm not a small child and I know enough not to do that again.

Please don't automatically take her side - but can I go against her wishes? I know I'm legally a minor, but I don't think the law allows my aunt to control everything in my personal life. What do you people think?
If your aunt is responsible for you then you should do as she says.

On the other hand since you will have judge all subsequent situations of this type for yourself, you might just as well decide for yourself now.

It might be worth askiing yourself why she objects to these people.

Why are this group interested in you anyway?

I wouldn't openly defy the aunt, as it would upset her for no good reason.

But I would follow your own instincts and judgement.

Being 15 isn't really much different from being any other age. In the end you have to live with the consequences of your own decisions and if you are wrong about these people you can always put it down to experience.

Thanks, you make good points and I wondered about that. They are mainly professional guys who work in the city, and TBH I have no idea why they seem to like my company. They are fun to be with, but I dunno why they want to be with me.

I have no money at all (I get a very small amount of 'pocket money' but that's all) and these are mainly guys, so it doesn't matter if I'm attractive or not (I'm not - I'm too skinny).

I think they might find me funny in a dorky sort of way - like when I got wasted. But I don't mind, cos I'm not as dumb as people think.

Leo, thank you for your kind words on the other thread, the one which became a discussion about the monarchy.

I thought your points were very nicely argued & backed up with figures too - it's good to learn that the monarchy actually turns a profit & is not 'wasteful' in the slightest.

I would have posted this comment there but was too moved by Mike Smith's apology to want to post underneath it.
