Madeleine McCann died in Apartment 5a in Praia da Luz on 2nd or 3rd May 2007 - see the book 'The Truth About A Lie' by former head of the investigation into her 'disappearance' Goncalo Amaral.

Before, that is, he was removed from the enquiry through British government pressure.

Now the McCanns are feted by the European Parliament because they support the 'Amber Alert' system for abducted children, a strong supporter of which is arch-Europhile Conservative MEP Edward McMillan Scott, who sponsored the McCanns' recent visit to Brussels.

The McCanns have also called on the powers of EUROPOL to be strengthened
