A number of reasons.

To start with the number of people who would be prepared to undertake an attack against a part of the population of Britain would be far less than 55 million. In fact most would be appalled at the idea of such a thing.

Then there’s the involvement of third part nations. Certainly other nations would involve themselves to bring “Peace”, look at the not so long past actions in The Balkans for example.

Then there’s the government of the day. No government would sit by and watch civil disturbances much less civil war.

Don’t rule out the morality aspect. How many would actually be willing to kill other people for such a cause that could e settled by another way … a Muslim Autonomous Region if not full partition. I certainly wouldn’t. My dislike is against Islam, not Muslim people.
