Tate Modern?

So...went to the Tate Modern yesterday.

Enjoyed it actually, some interesting works. Some actually blew me back - one by Cy Twombly was really intense.

Anyone here been, enjoyed it? Or not their...'cup of tea'?

Also strolled to the National Gallery too, which was great.

Both free, albeit I did add some in the way of donations.

In fact, I walked from Green Park in a big circle back to Green Park (via the royal Parks, past the Palace, Horse Guards, Parliament, Embankment and then back past St. Pauls and Piccadilly to reach Green Pak again)

AND WHAT A DAY!

I have no intention whatsoever of visiting 'Tate Modern' - now or ever.

The National Gallery is one of the great treasure houses of the world and the original Tate Gallery is a fine art museum also.

I'll be intending to visit the Tate in the next 3/4 weeks anyway so I'll look out for that!

If you are in the right room you can't miss it! It is huge.

Copley was an American who settled in England. This magnificent (though inaccurate) painting of the Battle of Jersey was his masterpiece.

Among other errors, the English and French troops are shown on the wrong sides of the picture. The portraits of the officers, however, were taken from life.

His son, Lord Lyndhurst, became Lord Chancellor of England.
