I cannot say for certain it was Jung, but I think so, that could see a connection between overly dominant mothers and homosexual sons - because the son could not shake off his mothers dominance - his masculinity could not develop.

Whether this is the cause of British males becoming less masculine or not, as far as I can see, it is the increasing dominance of women which is real cause of our current problems. This I believe has been encouraged by various power bases because women are much more pliant in work and social situations - it makes control significantly easier.

That theorum is a Freudian one, it would rejected by most members of the other two major, modern schools of psychology ie the behavourists and humanists and a good deal many modern Freudians would reject it. Freud and traditionalists don't seem the greatest allies anyway.

Its not Freud that I was trying to recall - I think it related to Jung's 'anima' theories - I shall have to reread some of his work I have.

How appropriate that the bigoted hatred by Rekers, one of the founders of the Family Research Council, a notoriously anti-gay group, is presented as factual by someone with an axe to grind.

Let’s just look at Reckers bona fides. He’s made extensive use of the rubbish that one Paul Cameron, arabidly anti-gay ""researcher"" who was expelled from the American Psychological Association for falsifying research regarding homosexuality.

Reckers is also a Southern Baptist minister, hardly a person to present an unbiased opinion on such matters who is actually on record that women should at all times be submissive to their husbands.

What a perfect choice to get a sensible and valid opinion regarding GAY people and how they live.
