Personally I see absolutely no need for marriage to be a factor in a couple having kids, nor for same sex couples having kids by IVF or surrogacy or adoption in the case of female same sex couples, or by adoption or surrogacy by male same sex couples.
Where I DO have a problem is with single women, not in or expecting to be in a permanent relationship with someone else, being impregnated by IVF since the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill would replace the existing IVF rules. IVF clinics had presently to consider the "welfare" of any child created, and that including the need for a father. The changes that would be brought in by this legislation substantially change such rules and instead simply require the ability of the woman to be able to “provide supportive parenting". The root cause to this and other changes in the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill is to be found in the EHCR, which rightly is used to extend parenthood rights to groups that might otherwise be excluded, but extending parenthood rights to individuals so creating “one parent families” by intent seems to me to be just plain wrong. The bill is presently in the Committee stage, and can be read (for them as wants!) at Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill [HL]

I'd gladly fertilise all of the single women who ask. It is more natural and takes away the moral dilemma from the scientists and gives it to me. I am basically immoral so wouldn't care. I'd limit myself to 5 women a day so as not to overpopulate the world.
