Please don't confuse 'angry' with 'sharp riposte' in my posts. Britannist & I have a long history of disagreement and disagreeable exchanges - as he has had with others and indeed so have I -and judging by the complaints section so have many other pairs of posters. I'll leave this topic there now. |

Oh ******. Just noticed this. And Steve Fowler off too. This is a bit crummy. Sorry to see you go. Take care of yourselves and happy posting elsewhere.

I suspect that the real reason why people are leaving is not because of the BNP posters, but simply down to the fact that UKIP is no longer a viable organisation worth fighting for in the minds of many, and it is easier to hide away elsewhere away from those that might point out its flaws and failures.
Let's be honest, if the results in London and the locals this May had been more favourable to UKIP, it would be the BNP on its back foot and its supporters giving up the ghost, at least in some cases. UKIPers would be rocking and rolling all over the place had UKIP maintained or even increased its London Assembly tally from 2004, but it didn't and with Farage's position likely to become more and more fragile especially if UKIP do not deliver in the next few by-elections, then I can quite understand UKIPers going elsewhere where they can lick their wounds in relative comfort. I don't mean this to be harsh or critical, just how it seems to me. I have said before that I have known many good UKIP people over the years, more rather than less who have since left and often simply drifted away from politics altogether. It is a shame, and the likes of Farage and the rest of the dinosaur elite in charge of UKIP are to blame completely, not the BNP, who will simply gloat - and that is really quite natural - I'm sure UKIP would do the same, as would the EDP or anyone. |
