Default England Rocks!

Well one part of it does anyway.Got draged down the local primary school fete "party in the park" yesterday (sat),One of those sort of outings I thought I would never have to attend again with my ageing family. The Grand occassion of Mothers 78th put a stop to that as she declared it was where she wanted to go for her day out.
The scene was set,the young nieces on the bouncy castle,Mother holding court round the picnic blanket ,the wine flowing freely ,sandwich anyone?

The brass band had finnished and I was now being tortured by a rather poor version of the Blues Brothers. When was this all going to end, only 4 hours to go I kept telling myself, hang on in there my son, sandwich anyone?

The next band was warming up,recognising a few rifts from my long ago youth the conversation melted into the background as the band (15 year olds) on stage annouced "this is one we wrote ourselves".

The following hour was spent listerning to sabbath like rock ,for ones so young of a very good quality. The next band up diddnt dissapoint as they flew straight into their "Maiden" routine, "alright" Mother enquired All bloody right! Im in the middle of a rockfest give us one of those sarnies.

Well I learnt two things yesterday, one that was that while Caterham Rocks the future cant be all bad ,the other was that Mother still knows best.

You should be. Rock music (that's proper rock music, not modern ****) is the epitome of libertarian expression.

Never straight and narrow
I won't keep in time
Tend to bend the arrow
Out of line
Been inclined to wander
Off the beaten track
That's where there's thunder
And the wind shouts back

Grinder
Looking for meat
Grinder
Wants you to eat

Got no use for routine
I shiver at the thought
Open skies are my scene
this boy won't get caught
Refuse to bait the mantrap
we love to set the snare
I love to have my sight
Capped everywhere

Grinder
Looking for meat
Grinder
Wants you to eat

I have my license
It came with birth,
For self reliance on this earth
You take the bullet
On which my name
Was etched upon it, in your game

Day of independence
Stamped us like a brand
Round the necks of millions
To the land

As the mighty eagle
I need room to breathe
Witness from the treadmill
I take my leave

Grinder
Looking for meat
Grinder
Wants you to eat

Beautiful post, Ranter! You're a lucky lad and mother knows why you should have seen the kids that day. She was showing you the future.

(Where does she keep her pointy hat?) Uriah Heep would have liked her, she knows when it's "The Magician's Birthday".
