Rotating power and utilities outages and rationing to conserve energy.
Food tax based on health and carbon footprint. “Insulation” tax on houses “sheltered communal accommodation” for the elderly. Euthanasia Abortion on demand Workfare Islamic regions recognised in law Tachographs in cars and legal limit on drivers hours. ID cards (?) used as bank cards / credit cards /for buying goods & services, to be presented for any journey of more than five miles, for all state provided services and on demand. NHS charges. Rickets. TB Polio (it’s still around despite what’s said) Leprosy No cure (admitted) for AIDS No cure (admitted) for cancer Cost vs social benefits assessment for any significant medicine or NHS treatment. No housing benefit paid, communal living centres for those who can’t afford their own homes. If you want to see Britain or the US in 100 years, just look at China 20 years ago but without the raw materials.

Kernow, a desire for wealth and economic power is the most moral of motivators.
No, I've not been over the hill, I just know that prolonged tyranny is impossible.

The religious references are interesting. C G Jung [avatar] considered his work as an an anatomy of the brain and defined one area as 'the religious function'. Essentially that we have this function and it will be filled with something.
Western religions, which are offered as concepts rather than being used to brainwash the young, are on the wane, probably because, objectively, the view that, based on an individual's behaviour in one life - irrespective of circumstances, our destiny is either perpetual delight in heaven or eternal damnation in hell, does not stack up. Eastern religions, which offer rebirth - the circumstances of which depends on behaviour in the previous life [which does seem more likely if there is a part of us that survives death] have not declined in the same way. The decline of Christianity, in particular, in the West has been replaced by the religion of 'getting and spending' [formally known as greed], this relates to Kernow's 'wealth and power' posting. If some new religious concept, which does dampen the stark desire for 'getting and spending' or 'wealth and power' does not evolve, we are in for an extensive period of conflict as our animal natures are given full licence to wreak their havoc. |
