Default BBC, 'I feel voters hurt', says Brown

Prime Minister Gordon Brown has said he understands people's "hurt", in the aftermath of Labour's worst local election results in 40 years.

I bet he does

Gordon Brown has said several times over the past few months to be listening, he has a strange way of forgetting the last time he said it.

He doesn't feel the hurt of people on 2%-ish rises in benefits and public service pay who are faced with hikes in mortgage rates (despite base rate cuts), fuel charges going up 20-30% in 12 months (he lives within walking distance of work and when he travels he has a chauffeur driven limo at our expense) etc. Flour, rice, bread etc have all gone up by 50-60%, but I bet he doesn't pay for the cornflakes at No 10, in any event he dines for free at many functions. He has a grace and favour home, a constituency home for which he can get funding, free travel, free stationery, free postage. He knows exactly how a single mum in a council flat is hurting.

As someone said in one of the papers: even if they once did, now the people do not like him, believe him or respect him.

When I eventually go deaf, I must remember not to buy the same model of hearing aid he uses!

The only hurt he feels is from the bick kick in the nuts Labour got on May 1st.

As for fuel prices - it makes me die when the government claim they can't do anything about them. Funny that, have they ever thought about the amount of duty they charge for each litre?
