What if you don't have a garden/allotment or a house/flat that's big enough to consume a moderate amount of time in cleaning? What can you do if you happen to live in a cube shaped brown thing with a sticker on it?

Yes, but I did assume that most people would have a USB memory stick.
You show me a USB memory stick of a gig or more, I'll show you a portable computer with customised operating system and the user's applications and settings.

Some people haven't always got the money to go the Internet cafes or buy USB sticks and some libraries restrict what you can do on their computers like up-loading certain files and downloading from the Internet onto their computers, plus there's the amount of time you can book on the computer depending on what time you go in or whether you think ahead and ring and book.

Tan, it sounds like you need to petition our beloved government for a free laptop. Isn't there some kind of "everyone should have a computer so they don't get left behind the digital divide" thing going on? I'm sure there must be.

Then you can nick a copy of Sim City for your own machine!

USB sticks are incredibly cheap nowadays - you can get fairly large ones for below £20. As it is, I don't have any money so I rely both on one which my dad bought me - and which I've lost - and another which a friend sent to me.

As for the restrictions in place, all you need to be able to do is reboot the computer - although if you haven't got a computer already then I suppose setting up the thing in the first place could prove to be tricky. Hmmm.

There should be.
I would rather pay the bills and get in food, sorry but I rarely have the excess of cash to buy a Stick. Although I could just buy one and wander around wondering why the lights or power doesn't work?

But thanks for you insight and help, I greatly appreciate it. *hug*

I have a job lined up, so I would rather buy on own rather than owe the Government. But thanks for the suggestion.
