UK boxer Jose Calzaghe wins tough fight in USA

Welsh boxer Joe Calzaghe has won a tough fight in the USA this morning (his first in America). The result (two judges voting for him and the other for his American opponent) was announced at 4.10 am. It is a great result for Joe Calzaghe - he fought back after being knocked to the ground by Bernard Hopkins:

LBC Radio independent news radio (London) 1152 AM reported at 4.32 am today "A sensational result for Joe Calzaghe who got up after being knocked to the ground in the first round - he has now won 45 fights in a row."

"Joe Calzaghe has won his light-heavyweight fight against Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas on a points decision. The Welshman had been decked by a right hand in a nightmare first round.....Hopkins slumped to the canvas early in the ninth claiming a low blow, much to the fury of Calzaghe, whose case appeared to be supported by video replays which showed only the slightest of connections........Calzaghe was soon back in his rhythm, giving as good as he got...."
