Certainly outside of the UK. But, as I said, the terms English and British are frequently seen as synonymous though not so with Scottish and British. Netherlands has a similar situation in that it is often referred to as Holland.
That said, yes I have been mistakenly called English in UK on a number of occasions. Both in Scotland and in England.

I have no doubt there are people who would and do make such mistakes despite the great diversity in regional accents in Scotland. As indeed there is in England.
No doubt there are those who couldn't geographically place Adge Cutler or Allan Smethurst on accent alone.

Consistency does not necessarily enhance one's life. It could consistently rain, for example.

It could consistently not rain.
The extremes of most activities result in misery.

Don't wish to spoil the elation for Joe Calzaghe win, but Bernard Hopkins was 43! I know for a fact a 27 year old Kernow would have beaten the **** out of a 43 year old Kernow!

And consistency can also then result in misery.

My main point, though, is merely a question: what does it matter if you are English or Scottish or Welsh or Irish or even British? What does it matter if you are British or French or German or American or Chinese or Russian or Egyptian or Saudi Arabian or Indian or Taiwanese or Australian or any one of the various nationalities in the world?

All peoples are made up of individuals, each one of whom is different; thus the English consist of rapists and murderers and yet they also consist of poets and of Good Samaritans; of evil and yet of good.

This is the case with all peoples and cultures, and ultimately it comes down to the fact that we are all individuals of the human race. Our country of birth dictates not our moral strength, nor our worthiness each as a human being; instead, it merely affects our success and security in the world, and even then only by random chance are you born into such a privileged nation as any of the four in the UK rather than somewhere like Zimbabwe.

There is little logic, then, in taking pride in your country or of quibbling over whether you are English or British. Be grateful that you are born somewhere so relatively well-off, a place which offers you so many opportunities to flourish, but take pride in your humanity rather than your country.

Hopkins was in excellent shape for a 43 year old. Indeed, a more experienced guy in good shape, could well whip a younger version of himself.

Even at 36 I was much more physically able than I was at 43. 43 is extremely old for a fighter, no matter how fit he is! All I'm saying is if a Calzaghe had met a 36 year old Bernard Hopkins the outcome of the fight may have been different. When Rocky Marciano beat the great Joe Louis, Joe Louis was a shadow of what he was in his prime! That is the reason you can't match two fighters or for that matter any sportsman when one is past their sell by date! I'm just being factual! I'm a great Calzaghe fan!
