It is brutal and boring imho, but that shouldn't mean we ban it. I think the same about Opera but should we ban that?

LOL!

I can think of a couple that should be sent into oblivion!

Britten’s “Peter Grimes” for one, and anything by Wagner along with it!

The interminable anti-Semitic “Der Ring des Nibelungen”, so believed by Nazis then and now, to my ear is nothing short of a repetitive dirge.

His other works, especially Der fliegende Holländer, a work that he couldn’t even tell the truth about until cornered, was another piece of dross that with the rest should be condemned to perpetual silence!

Fortunately it’s a matter of personal taste, as no doubt there are works that I wax lyrical about that would make others want to vomit.

Yes, but you could have combined some of the posts.
I notice you often post a link and in the very next post, a quote from the linked article. To me, that seems like one post made into two.
No big deal. My earlier post was just a little bit of a tease.

Is he Welsh or UK or British?
On the news (BBC) he is Welsh.
If he had been English you can bet your life he would have been reported as being British.
Scots are Scots.
Welsh are Welsh.
Irish are Irish.
English are British.
Have you ever been called a Scot?

I take your point. But would you/could you ban smoking, alcohol, winter attempts on Nanga Parbat etc? Even if banned, would it stop?
In the case of boxing, I think it would still take place but without the regulations that require, for example, a doctor in attendance who can, at his sole discretion, stop the fight at any point if he has any concerns.

I'd rather have a libertarian or populist mindset than the Marxist
"better good" for all.

I agree with what you say on the death penalty

I dont care whay part of the UK he comes from, or the colour of his skin, or his political persuasion, or whether he eats meat, or whether he is a christian, a muslim, an atheist. His performance was something all of this country can be proud of.

If more young people took up boxing, there'd be less thuggery! You never hear of Boxers going around beating up elderly people! Or gangs of Boxers "Happy slapping" people"!
