I am also self-employed. It is a good idea if you can think of something useful to do. Let's have a pint and a chat about self-employment sometime.

Alex

I don't have ID, so would be difficult as I still look like I am 15.
Can't even buy ciggies, which is strange...

But for the chat that I could do.

So what do you think to the idea of breeding pedigree animals for sale, ya think there's a niche in Gloucester?

I know people who do it already but a well-promoted business might be successful. You'd need to buy the animals first though and pedigree animals are expensive, as are vets bills and cost of maintaining such animals.

I know that is has it's start-up costs, but isn't there some sort of pet insurance?

I should hope not. It is awful practice to do business on the basis of need, rather than on the basis of merit.

Phone a few farmers up,ask them if they have a couple of acres for rent,(about £200 pa) then get some chicks and start your own free range farm or egg plant.

You would need planning though.

Yes, you can take out insurance. However remember that that would cost money as well. If you can get finance, it's probably feasible but if not then it's probably not feasible.

Now that is a stellar idea esp. as there is loads of farmland in the area.

Thanks, I will carefully think about it and start making a plan.
