You stated earlier, Cleopatra, that you want the abortion time limit reduced. It is a good thing that you hold this view and I would prefer to criticise those who do not want this rather than someone such as yourself who favours a degree of reform in this area. As I wrote earlier, a reduction in the upper time limit for abortion would (apart from being good for so many other reasons) allow the NHS to spend more money on helping the sick and elderly (which it was originally set up to do).
Courteous?

I do not see how reducing the abortion limit to 13 weeks will save much money to be honest as the majority of abortions are carried out between 7 and 10 weeks anyway. Yes there are some (not many) women that have late abortions through choice rather than advice from a doctor regarding a problem, most of the late abortions are because doctors find a problem with the fetus at the four/five month scan. I would not want this type of abortion to be abolished at a late stage, especially if the mothers life was in danger. Having said that I do think the abortion limit needs to be lowered to 13 weeks for non emergencies. Those that take the contraceptive injection, pill or coil should take regular pregnancy tests if sexually active to reduce the risk of missing the first signs of pregnancy.

The above scenario of the life of a Mother being put in danger as a result of her pregnancy (thankfully) concerns only a small number of people. A huge number of abortions in the UK are being conducted as a sort of delayed form of contraception. This is bad and it was not what the Abortion Act was brought in for to facilitate. And it wasn't what the NHS was brought in for to deal with either.

Delors (Jacques Delors) was President of the EU Commission in the 1980s during part of the time Mrs. (now Lady) Thatcher was UK Conservative Prime Minister.

He backs the euro and EU Superstate.

He addressed the Labour Party Conference while europhile election loser Kinnock was that party's leader and appeared to undermine the policies of Lady Thatcher and interfere in the internal politics of the UK.

Once Delors (a French lefty) was on the scene Lady Thatcher became more and more eurosceptic (and who can blame her).

Subject also of the famous headline ' Up Yours Delors' in response to his federal vision of Europe.
