Is stealing O.K. as long as it goes towards a "good" cause?

Most people (almost all) seem to think we have to have taxation.

Given that you can't opt out of taxation (unless you are very rich anyway), this is the forced taking of wealth, against SOME peoples wishes.

Some people may just think they pay too much taxation, but again they have no choice, so it is taking of wealth against their wishes.

This is theft by any definition. Theft by the state, given a mandate by the people.

Given that, I have to assume that most people actually do believe that stealing is O.K. for the greater good.

Can everyone just confirm that for me with a yay or a nay.

But most folks would say "yay"... Because they've been infected by the commie corpse rotting in Highgate.

It really does amaze me. Even people who claim to be solid Christians are quite happy to throw one of the ten commandments into the bin.

Well, the 10 commandments are from the OT, so not strictly in force for Christians. Christians live under the two commandments - (1) be excellent to each other and (2) believe in Jesus.

The big boss Himself didn't care about money and taxation, hence "render unto Caesar".

Of course, the big two cover the big ten quite nicely. You're not being excellent to your neighbour if you're nicking his quad bike or banging his wife.

So how come some Christains are not excellent to me and are happy to steal my money to fund space programmes?

Something else that bothers me.

The reason people justify stealing, is that they don't think others will pay for things they think are important.

They fundementally don't trust their fellow man to do the right thing, so they demand that they be forced to, so that they themselves don't have to pay more.

Selfishness + theft (using violence if necessary). Yet the same people tell me that burglars and muggers are evil and should be locked up.

I just don't get it anymore.

Not everyone who calls themselves a Christian lives up to the ideals. Plus, a lot of people get confused between Christianity and Judaism (it'd actually be more accurate to call the US a Judaic country rather than a Christian one).
