Agree. There can be English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish peoples and their parliaments and countries without all this really gross internecine squabbling. It has put a lot of people off. It has upset a lot of others and wounded some. Stupid. It must come to an end.

SilverFalcon

Just would like to say thank you for your views, and wish you all the best for your future. I am not a politician and I can’t change anything. I was looking for a political solution to our problems as I know Britain’s heading for a Yugoslavian outcome, the fact is it will have to be settled by other means.

Respects from my yard. Mountaineer signing off.

I am in favour of only allowing unlimited immigration from New Zealand and Australia. All other countries should have some restrictions placed on them.

Why should Australia and New Zealand get special dispensation?

I asked first. It's likely to have the effect of worsening relations with other Commonwealth nations, most notably Canada.

No problem there - just tell them they can't come in because they are a bunch of hosers. They'll understand.

A very good point, EA. If New Zealanders and Australians can come here without restriction - then Canadians must be allowed to do so, too.

When we are out of the EU I would also like to think that as a member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) the UK would let people from an EFTA nation like Switzerland into the UK to work as long as the arrangement was reciprocal and that Switzerland was not giving out Swiss passports to people we would not want here in the UK.
