Maybe you have a point, but interesting you acknowledge the Nazi link to our royalty, but still remain in favour of it.

The question you have to ask yourself is(and the articles may tell you) who supported Hitler ?!

"Who hasn't wored a Swatika at a fancy dress party ?"
Personally I haven't...... !!!

God save the Queen
Her facist regime
They made you a moron
Potential h-bomb

God save the Queen
She ain't no human being
There's no future
In England's dreaming

Don't be told what you want
Don't be told what you need
There's no future, no future
No future for you

God save the Queen
We mean it man
We love our Queen
God saves

God save the Queen
'Cos those tourists are money
And our figure head
Is not what she seems

Oh God save history
God save your mad parade
Oh Lord God have mercy
All crimes are paid

When there's no future
How can there be sin
We're the flowers in the dustbin
We're the poison in the human machine
we're the future, your future

God save the Queen
We mean it man
We love our Queen
God saves

No future for you

With that a-side, actually the top ten richest countries 7 are Monarchies (the first three richest being Monarchies) and the most generous country is also a Monarchy.
This is just plain false: If you are talking about wealth in total GDP, then 6 of the top 10 are republics according to the IMF - the top being a republic (U.S.A.). If you are talking about per capita, then again, 6 of the 10 are republics according to the IMF.

As to generous, do you mean a nation giving most in aid? If it is government sponsored, it is hardly something to be proud of and another example of you being happy to support collectivism and socialism when it suits your argument. If you are talking about private donations, then I'm sorry, that goes to a republic yet again.

Furthermore, I am failing to understand the purpose of this argument (as I have stated in another post above). If you are claiming (as appears to be) that somehow monarchies have an inherent ability to create more wealth than republics then I'm going to sit back and wait for you to prove that in your next post.

The top 17 most Patriotic countries or as the stat states 'Will to fight for country" 9 of which are Monarchies and 8 Republics, and 8 of those 9 Monarchies are in the top 10 with the first 3 being Monarchies. Says a little something about loyalty doesn't it . But then again you don't believe in being Loyal to your country do you.
Bingo. I don't place my loyalty into legal fictions, I am not a communitarian.

A Nobility which is not impeccably and unapologetically Nationalist in character -is at worst an annoyance, and at best an irrelevancy. A Nobility which does not find itself in vehement opposition to the EU, which is anathema to the concept of Nationalism -can only be deemed objectionable in the eyes of a true patriot.

However, abolishing the Monarchy would not accomplish anything of much good. Her Majesty has graced the throne of The United Kingdom with a dignity not often witnessed in these vulgar times, and could only be described as an asset to her Nation.

It would be a sad, sad day if we lost the Monarchy, in my opinion. Though I sincerely believe the Monarchy will be threatened in a couple of decades, and in my experience most immigrants and their descendents from the former colonies despise them.

God Save The Queen!

I agree it would be a sad day but I think the future of the Monarchy is more secure than you imply.

I agree, the popularity of the Monarchy may be pushing towards Republican attitudes; however the security of the Consitutional Monarchy throughout the Commonwealth Realms is only made stronger due to these attitudes. Some people think when EIIR has passed away and the Prince of Wales comes to assend that due to his reputation, the Monarchy will die with Elizabeth, I think and am almost sure that they are misstaken. His Royal Highness will suceed and the Monarchy will prevail peoples doubts. I take faith in the Privy Council and in the 'Establishment' to secure the Monarchy and make sure it remains in our Government.

I am minded to quote an old saying here:
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I see little point in abolishing the monarchy other than destroying a centuries old tradition.
