It is likely a viral marketing video, speculation is that it is for the upcoming movie "Cloverfield".

Default UFO siting Alderney, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Derbyshire
A few weeks ago there was a UFO siting over Alderney (Channel Islands) and, more recently, there was the siting of UFOs above Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Today comes news of a UFO siting in Derbyshire. It's difficult for the sceptics to blame such sitings on "hallucinating" when more than one person saw the object:

Cloverfield: A group of people struggle to survive a giant monster attack on New York City.

Doesn't sound very ufo-ish. The only connections I could find were 1) teaser filmed with camcorders to emulate a home-movie style and 2) there's a viral campaign going on.

However I do think this is viral marketing for something.

So what? If someone turned up, or you got the whole street to phone in, it could be brought into better light.

It is just strange how all of the sightings have never been confirmed, never filmed in high quality and only ever filmed by the witnesses themselves.

You've never heard the one where a UFO was spotted by an airliner? Three F-15s were sent to intercept, but even at Mach 2, it was pulling away from them.
