I don't think they should be arrested any more than i should be for hedge hopping and playing knock and run when i was a young kid.
I find it quite refreshing to see politicians being honest and upfront for a change,at least they have had some real life experiences.

I have never, and will never, take/smoke/inject any kind of illegal drug. I don't consider it a 'real life experience', I consider it a criminal offence.

This is relatively a minor offense that happened 25 years ago and harmed no one but themselves. Should we arrest everybody who admits that they have broken the speed limit in the past.

What if they had done it five years ago? Or just one year ago? What about if it was just last month? Would that make a difference? Where do you draw the line? I am pretty sure that 30 years is the statutory time limit that the police have to adhere to. If someone publicly admits to speeding then they should get points on their license, yes. |

What we need are less laws and the ones left to be more sensibly enforced.
I would decriminalise ALL drugs BUT only allow consumption of certain drugs on licensed premises. with possession outside of these premises treated harshly. At the end of the day more people have suffered more because of the effects of the legalised drugs - cigarettes, alcohol caffeine etc., I would have thought that people who want "smaller" government would understand that position. Mind you it is nice to see the hypocrisy of mainstream politicians exposed

If you are a politician, then the laws you make don't apply.
I thought everyone knew that.

I would have zero tolerance for all drug users! Drug addiction is self inflicted, these people commit crimes against others to feed their habit! Kernow type harsh punishment would solve problem! It's all a matter bottle by the government to impose harsh penalties, instead of spending a fortune of taxpayers money, giving these people substitute drugs and counselling, spend it on chucking them in a secure unit doing cold turkey for however long it takes for a cure.
