Default Sky pulls channels off Virgin Media

From the March 1st Sky One, Sky Two, Sky Three, Sky Sports News & Sky News will no longer air on Virgin Media.

No Lost or Simpsons for you then.

Sky Three, Sky News & Sky Sports News are also set to be removed from Freeview & replaced with something else.

Apparently Sky asked double the price they did before for their channels & Virgin told them to shove it up their ****.

Sky are ruthless.

I hope Virgin fight back, maybe in other ways, like taking the football off them or creating a Sky+ like box. Do that and then we have some real competition.

Richard Branson is smoking something if he thinks he can take on Murdoch and win.
This battle will run and run because the issue is not about the channels, it is about Sky maintaining its dominance in the face of Virgin media. Expect much much more.

The Murdoch empire is ruthless and bad for this country they have lowered the tone of so much and then are the first to complain

Remember what the Liverpool fans went through after Hillsborough
Don't buy the scum

The removal of the three channels named above from 'Freeview' and their replacement with different Sky channels (which would be pay-to-view only) has to be approved by the regulator, OFCOM.

Wonderful. I knew it was coming, but I thought I might at least be able to watch the final few episodes of Stargate SG1, esp. now it's been cancelled.

Not so sure. At lest Virgin has its fingers in many markets, rather than just media.

Bransons Virgin label brought us Tubular Bells and later Madness stuff so he's better then the dirty digger

and sky sports will probably go out the window if West Ham go down which unfortunately looks a racing certainty still on the bright side the Grecians may go up just as the seagulls from Plainmoor go down [end sports report]

I think we could probably sort those eps via other means (as long as you're not on dial-up).
