Judge Paul Worsley told the pair they 'scalped' the little girl: "That child was four. That child was loving and affectionate. That child had cerebral palsy. That child was your daughter. You harmed her in ways which, in my judgment, amounted to torture of that little girl," he said.

"These offences are aggravated by the fact that at the time of your offending you both knew that you were under the eye of social services and had every reason to show more not less affection to that little girl.

"She had suffered a broken arm within four weeks of being entrusted to your joint care and there was therefore all the more reason to be protective because she was so vulnerable."

TOTAL of 22 years????? They should never see the light of day again. There is no justice in the country.

My mother works in Social Services and see's this type of thing all the time.
Yet they are allowed to keep having more kids.
Anyone who abuses children should be sterilised.

They should have got life meaning life in a Labour camp and the Cat over a regular period.

Yes, I can understand that in the case of there's so much evidence that to deny it is sticking your head in the sand, but for one case, regardless of media spin, is a bit drastic.

Not necessarily.

They may have had no idea how to raise a child successfully and thought that smacking a child is the way to get it to be raised in a healthy manner.

They shouldn't be sterilised for ignorance.

Then again, I'm against corporal/capital punishment in general. Life's far too short to have it spent being whipped/killed early.

This was more than that.

It was systamic torture of a disabled child.

Sick minds, that can never be trusted out in public again.
