How can they split it fairly without knowing what "fair" is?
50-50.
Read what I said.

"But if they bought things together without being 50-50 on the items but they lack the receipt to verify who paid what..."

How can the know what fair is?

The price wasn't 50-50, why should the split be?
Because as you said their is no proof who bought it.
The courts of course could look into the income of both and decide who was most likely to have.

But a mere assessment isn't "fair", especially if recent job changes skew things.

Here's my solution.

If they didn't keep the receipts, then it's their own stupid fault. Split it proportionally according to how much they entered the relationship with and how much they contributed to the household during the relationship in income and goods and services.

"But we paid for it with mostly my money!"
Too bad. Go make more instead of whining about it.

Well said, sums it up nicely.
Exactly.

If women choose to live as unpaid tarts with men who refuse to marry them, frankly they deserve their financial disadvantage when the 'partnership' splits up.

It's just a way for a bunch of devious amateur swordsmen to get out of marital responsibilities, and if some women are too stupid to see that I have no sympathy with them.

Have you ever known a man who watched (or admitted to watching) Big Brother or East Enders? It says a lot.

I must be fortunate in that the few times I have had to deal with women bosses they were people I liked and respected. Interestingly the best of the bunch was black as well.

When women are good they're very good but an increasing number seem to be fodder for Big Brother and East Enders. A friend tells me all three of his daughters are constantly mesmerised by this televisual vomit.

The problem is that in the modern world men are becoming weak and unable to assert themselves. In a word they are becoming effeminate.

UKIP should become a repositry for real men who are lusting to fight back against the pitiful effeteness of modern life.

We need to assemble an elite of condottieri , at odds with the decadence of the modern world and relishing the fight with the scum..
