The National Anthem - what should it be?

I absolutely reject the continued use of “God save the Queen” if for no other reason than it is way past time that the British people stopped memorising the concept of crawling subservience to anyone, especially someone who is only head of state by accident of birth.

The fact that it is a funeral dirge comes a close second reason for ditching the horrible thing.

Why the hell would anybody want to build Jeruserlem in England? thats a complete no starter for me,God save the Queen is OK if a bit boring at sporting events,Land of hope and glory gets my vote.

I agree. The irony is that if you look at the social background to the song it comes out as being very critical of England of the day.
